**Race the Grown-ups** every FRIDAY in MAY

Rain or shine - parents, caregivers, grandparents, etc. and all fitness levels are welcome to join and engage students in taking laps around the Pioneer field during recess.

Sign up on the Google Doc sheet AND make sure you've completed the OSD Volunteer check (available here) for the 2025-26 school year.

NOTE: there are separate tabs on the bottom of the spreadsheet for each date

Recess times: 1:15-1:30 (grades 2/3);  1:35-1:50 (K/1/DLC);   1:55-2:10 (4/5/DLC)

   Track Stars Program

Each recess offers an opportunity for Pioneer students to hit the track and log their laps. Students earn necklace charms for turning in completed track cards, and after meeting a distance goal track stars get honored during school assemblies.  

Current achievement awards for 2024-25:

Special Track Stars events include "Race the Grown Ups" days, when Pioneer family members can join students at school during their scheduled recess and participate by walking or running to complete laps. Reminder: all volunteers must complete the Olympia School District volunteer application for the current school year before participating in on-campus events!

Pioneer PTA sponsors Track Stars by purchasing charms and other awards, and with volunteers coordinating the program.
