olympia junior programs at the Washington center

1st through 5th grade Pioneer students have the opportunity to attend performances at the Washington Center through Olympia Junior Programs

OJP is a community program designed to give students the opportunity to experience and value a wide variety of performing arts. Performances are subsidized by OJP for our local schools.

     For the 2023-24 school year:
      - Grades 1-2 will attend "Jack & the Beanstalk" on Thursday, March 21st
      - Grades 3-5 will attend "Frindle" on Monday, April 22nd
          (Grades 4-5 @10:30, Grade 3 @12:00)

Adult family members are encouraged to volunteer to be an usher at these productions!
Email Lauren Hovey at hoveytv@gmail.com to express interest in volunteering.

Ushers provide their own transportation and must arrive at least 15 minutes prior to the show, and be available to stay for up to 2 hours. Ushers meet the buses and escort the students to their seats. They may watch the performance as they stand along the walls or near doors. Ushers must be at least 18 years old and may NOT bring other children along. All ushers must complete the OSD volunteer application. If you have not already completed the volunteer application for this school year, you may find it on the OSD website.

Pioneer PTA supports OJP by providing volunteers and subsidizing part of the cost of attending.
