Pioneer PTA Diversity, Equity, Inclusion Workgroup Mission Statement

The Pioneer PTA is a parent-driven volunteer organization dedicated to the social and academic enrichment of each and every student at Pioneer Elementary School. Fostering an atmosphere that values and promotes diversity, equity, and inclusion is a crucial component of social and academic enrichment for all students.

The PTA DEI workgroup:

• Works to provide the Pioneer community with educational opportunities around diversity, equity, and inclusion issues;

• Works in tandem with school administration to help teachers and staff promote diversity, equity, and inclusion values in the classroom, recognizing that it is not the role of the DEI workgroup to direct instructional or curricular decisions; and

• Works to foster equity across our district community, recognizing that a rising tide lifts all boats.
